Andhra Pradesh has always been the former state in India to accept, adopt and implement all the technology-driven initiatives in agriculture sector. Andhra Pradesh is at the forefront of technology-driven transformation in agriculture, and has ambitious agricultural goals in the sunrise Andhra Pradesh vision 2029. AP AgTech Summit 2017 is one such forward step taken by the government of Andhra Pradesh to bring together global leaders including business heads, start-up founders, leading policymakers, and technology experts to discuss innovative ideas for agricultural transformation in the state. This event is one of a kind as it majorly focus on agricultural sector. AP AgTech Summit 2017 was organized by the State Government in association with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for three days from November 15th to November 17th, 2017. This was inaugurated by Shri. Mupavarapu Venkaiah Naidu, Honorable Vice President of India, in the presence of Shri. N. Chandrababu Naidu, Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. This was attended by several experts, delegates and farmers from various parts of the nation as well as various countries took part to make this summit a huge event. Microsoft Corporation co-founder Bill Gates has attended the valedictory function on 17th November and this the first time that he is attending an Agricultural Hackathon in our state. This hackathon had exhibition area where the start-ups can present their solution for the problems in agriculture and others sections in this sector. A pitching session was a part of the summit with an objective to focus on getting solution for the key issue and the winner were felicitated in the valedictory session. This summit has allowed to focus majorly on the primary sector of revenue of the state and understand technology-based solutions that are much organized and make the work easy for the farmers and marginal groups to get financial stability within their boundary.
