The Indus Entrepreneurs (TIE) chapter of Mumbai has organized a Global Summit at JW Marriot, Mumbai, India on 21st – 22nd February, 2018 in partnership with leading agencies of Government of India, 20+ TIE chapters from India, USA, Canada Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and Dubai and global venture capital funds. Many successful entrepreneurs, industrialists, leading innovators, senior corporate professionals, and academia have participated in the event. This summit has also served as a platform for budding entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas with angel investors as their audience. In addition, networking opportunities were created at this event, which made it the best place for innovators, potential leaders, and influencers. This two-day fair created so many opportunities for start-ups through pitching and mentoring sessions, panel discussions, rewards and acknowledgment for unique business models implemented by start-ups. The major topics discussed during panel discussion were Women Entrepreneurship, Rural and Social Entrepreneurship and accelerate the growth in rural India. A massive group of mentors and angel investors from various chapters of TIE have attended this conference and shared their priceless experiences with start-up founders and advised them on how to deal with the road-blocks and build scalable businesses. Start-up pitching was conducted to build a bridge between the prospective start-up and investor, thereby facilitating fiscal support and market access. For this global summit, Andhra Pradesh Innovation Society acted as one of the state sponsors and promoted the state Innovation and start-up policy at this platform. Our state was represented by Mr. J. A. Chowdary, Special Chief Secretary and IT Advisor to Chief Minister, Government of Andhra Pradesh and Dr. V. Valli Kumari, CEO of AP Innovation Society. The prospective start-ups have participated in pitching sessions conducted by Venture Catalysts, Mumbai based Venture capital firm and networked with investors.
