The Indus Entrepreneurs (TIE) has organized an investor summit, which was a two –day conference from December 15th – December 16th, 2017, at Taj P, New Delhi. This serves as a platform for all the budding entrepreneurs to ground their ideas before potential investors and express their ideas to get ample opportunities for start-ups through pitching & mentoring sessions and panel discussions. This magnanimous event had partnered with various states such as Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Uttarakhand. Andhra Pradesh Innovation Society has participated in this event and promoted top 2 start-ups from each cohort of Xlr8 program. The importance of ‘Women Entrepreneurship and Social Entrepreneurship’ have been the intensifying topics discussed in panel discussion and the members also shared their opinions regarding the need for elevating poverty and economic development in the rural areas of the country. During this panel discussion Andhra Pradesh state’s Policy to promote women entrepreneurship in rural and urban areas was presented to the audience and members, and it was very well accepted and appreciated. The major points discussed promoting the establishment of women entrepreneurship are as follows- general permission for all three shifts shall be available and entities to take the approved precautions in respect to safety and security of the employee, women entrepreneurs establishing IT firms shall be given 50% subsidy on electricity bills for 5 years or 50 lakhs whichever is earlier, 50% subsidy on lease rentals up to a maximum of 5 per annum for 3 years taken by women entrepreneurs, either in IT/Multi-purpose SEZs/any notified private area, 25% or 50% Rebate in power tariff is provided to the eligible women entrepreneurs basing on applicable terms and conditions as defined under ICT policy, land reserved for MSME industries estates, APIIC shall allocate 10% of number of plots to Women Entrepreneurs. This discussion was followed by start-up pitching in order to generate a link between the prospective start-up and investors. Enormous number of mentors cum angel investors from various chapters of TiE have graced this conference and shared their experience with the startup founders and advised them on how to embark upon the road-blocks and build scalable. TiECon 2017 has brought in more visibility to various service offerings of the respective start-ups. Through this platform AP Innovation Society promoted the start-ups which have been incubated through resources. The interaction session made the delegates and speakers view the start-up policy , that stresses on the importance of Inter-connection between Industry-Education Institutions and Government of the state and this brought a change in the perception about the persistence of Andhra Pradesh to be a knowledge economy. The initiatives taken by the Government of Andhra Pradesh has carved a unique position amongst other states and has been commended by the Hon’ble Secretary for Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Shri. Ramesh Abhishek I.A.S. and Orissa's Hon’ble Minister for MSME, Shri. Prafulla Samal during their visit to the stall. Our state also promoted the salient features of AP Start-up and Innovation policies in order to nurture the state's human resources. These key points didn’t only attract the attention of members and participants but also gathered the attention of venture capitalists, angel investors, seasoned Technology Evangelists and the Pan-Indian digital media platforms that exclusively deal with start-up ecosystem. Some of the features which were highlighted by state’s participation are: • Startup fund of Rs.100 cr, Rs. 200 cr corpus fund would be aggregated through investors and venture capitalists. • Provision of state-of-the-art plug and play infrastructure for technology-based start-ups at zero cost. • Decentralization of the development of ecosystem by establishing incubation spaces across the state. • Single window clearance for granting approvals to new entrepreneurs. • Onboarding International consultants and mentors aid in the growth of the start-ups. • Boot camps and Hackathons to attract the young innovative minds towards entrepreneurship. The pace at which Andhra Pradesh as a state has been moving along with the other states of the country after bifurcation was appreciated by the representatives from Inc42 and media cell of “start-up India” and some investors showcased their interest in setting up a Robust system to invest in the prospective start-ups such Agriculture, Manufacturing, IT, Robots etc. This event has played a vital role in promoting Andhra Pradesh state on the National front and express the innovative ideas/thoughts/services to place the state in a better place when it comes to development. This event also motivated us to transform the state faster into Knowledge hub and best destination for investments. The innovative start-up ideas presented by our state at the TIECON’17 are as follows: • BODHA (Sowjanya Health Care Solutions) The Eco-friendly Disposable Shaving Kit was designed by Akkineni Sowjanya & Ramprasad. This product aims at controlling the transmission of harmful viruses from one individual to another through cuts and bruises. •Omatek Bio Solutions This was proposed by Dr. Devlai Sharma. This is an edible safe, biocide, disinfectants for Agri, food, and pharma. • Tychee Juno Tyres This was presented by Sameer Panda. This to use BPPC tyre to prevent tyre bursts, cures puncture, balances tyre in dynamic condition, increases life and marginally increases fuel efficiency up to 3%. • Cyrup technologies Gaurav Kumar and Aswini Nunna promoted a technology that can be used to track the performance of vehicle and driver behavior. • Sagar defence engineering systems private ltd This was founded by Nikunj Parasahar/Lakshay danga to control the unmanned marine vehicle. • Cerelisa Nutritech Pvt. Ltd NVVV Kiran created a multi-micronutrients loaded face-cream for tackling anemia.
